Data Specification

A data specification contains the data model and other relevant provisions concerning the data.

This includes rules for data capture, encoding, and delivery, as well as data quality requirements, metadata for evaluation and use, data consistency, etc.

Data modelling and data specifications are linked, in the first place, to data collection and data product delivery.

• To specify the parts of a data product, use the standard Data product specifications, ISO 19131
• To specify requirements on data quality, use the standard Data quality, ISO 19157 (see also Data Quality ).
• To specify the ability to produce and deliver geodata, use the standard Quality assurance of data supply, ISO 19158
• To describe your modeled data for evaluation and use, use the standard Metadata, ISO 19115 (see also Metadata)
